The Compact 525 oxygen concentrator delivers up to 96% oxygen at 5 litres per minute. The device increases the oxygen concentration in the ambient air from approx. 21 vol. % to a maximum of 93 vol. %. This enrichment is based on the adsorption effect of molecular sieves.

Oxygen concentrator function:

The ambient air is sucked in by a compressor, compacted and passed through a molecular sieve. The molecular sieve retains the nitrogen present in the ambient air (approx. 79 % by volume) and releases the remaining oxygen.
Before the molecular sieve is saturated with nitrogen, a switch is made to a second molecular sieve. While the second sieve provides oxygen, the first sieve can regenerate itself. This process is repeated continuously, and the switching between the sieves causes a hissing sound. The alternating regeneration of both sieves makes continuous oxygen enrichment possible.
